To be fair, strategically Russia cannot hold onto Crimea and by extension most of the captured territories without the bridge whether or not they have ferries. They'd never survive the loss of the bridge which is quite likely to result in total massive domestic upheaval.

The ferries don't matter because without the bridge, the ferries are useless anyway
