WTF? Just don't use wireless charging ffs. What a dumb opinion.

Considering it comes at the cost of your phone being more fragile, the argument is not without merit

And the extra costs to support a feature I never use.

What does wireless charging has to do with phones being more fragile?

The glass backs that this conversation started with

I hate wireless charging too, though. It's inherently less efficient than wired, and you have less range of motion while charging. With a wire, can still use my phone while it's plugged in. Wireless charging needs to go away imo.

Glass isn't mentioned nowhere in this comment which started this conversation.

That comment did not start the conversation, it was a response to the comment above it, which directly mentions glass.

That's why I deleted my comment almost immediately after posting it. Now I'm wondering how were you able to reply to it few hours later. Guess this Lemmy thing is still buggy.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Ah, makes sense. Yeah it still exists on my instance. Hopefully the underlying bug gets resolved, since it's now wasted both of our time :)

Metal backs are incompatible with wireless charging.

So that leaves ceramic, plastic and glass. Plastic isn't "premium" enough apparently so that leaves ceramic and glass both of which are fragile
