Disclaimer: my source for gpu related information is the tomshardware chart.

Currently, it sits near the 3070 in terms of performance. Why is it considered a bad choice? Can someone please explain? Thanks

If I understand it correctly, it's a fine GPU just overpriced. For the same money you can get last Gen chips that drastically outperform it such as the RX 6950.
