Great now MAGA will use this as an excuse to shutdown Yosemite for being woke. Then they can sell it off to corporations to ruin forever.
An asshole doesn’t need an excuse to be an asshole.
No they don't but they sure like to cling to them when given.
I find trying to assign reasoning to the unreasonable a waste of time. The bigot personality doesn’t respond to anything except the fear of consequences.
So you show up in public, in huge numbers, and demonstrate that bad behavior isn’t welcome. They’ll retreat to the edges of society until the next would-be despot shows up. Hopefully in less numbers over time.
Obviously I can only speak from my own experience but for me figuring out how they came to whatever false conclusion means I can work backwards and maybe get them out. I know the logic is flawed but I am an optimist.
It has worked for my mother though, once I was able to speak to her from her perspective it was much easier to show her the flaws in her "logic".
If it worked once it can work again and I will never stop trying.
The other option is to hide and stay quiet, hoping to never draw their ire.
I'd rather not cower and rely on their grace to simply allow people to live.
Agreed, the time to fight back was a long time ago. My point was merely that you can count on maga to do the cruelest possible thing at all times.
Pipe down don't give them any ideas.
This pessimism is neither useful nor necessary.
They don't need an excuse, they'll make up whatever bullshit they need to justify whatever they were going to do anyway
