Obviously I can only speak from my own experience but for me figuring out how they came to whatever false conclusion means I can work backwards and maybe get them out. I know the logic is flawed but I am an optimist.

It has worked for my mother though, once I was able to speak to her from her perspective it was much easier to show her the flaws in her "logic".

If it worked once it can work again and I will never stop trying.
