I keep a list on my phone. Even if I forget to update it, it has all the old items which is usually enough to help remember

Yeah, I have an app that I can tick items off on. Of course, then the issue is remembering to add it to the list, if it isn't something obvious like milk.

Lmfao I usually text the list to the wife before I go so I can go and look at it when I obviously forget (or if I'm really lazy I'll ask her to send it to me haha)
