He blamed a "concerted effort" by other countries that offer incentives to attract filmmakers and studios, which he described as a "National Security threat".

"WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!"

US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick responded to the announcement, saying "We're on it".

This is an actual thing. I figured it was made up, but no, Trump is serious. :)

I figure Trump will eventually demand that Japan refer to him as Trump-sama, since anything less would be disrespectful.

"You see, they like to spread their cartoons and big-eyed people or whatever...you know, why would they make their cartoons big-eyed. Big-eyed is very shameful...shameful like anyone who doesn't use my name. They call me Trump, President Trump...but my people tell me that they're being very disrespectful in their language. So my people tell me: "They should call you Trump-sama, you know? And I go, What's Trump-sama? And they say, Japanese people say sama when they really like you, you know, and that's why they should call me Trump-sama from now on. Very disrespectful."
