I got an Amazon parcel today with my name and address, but I did not place the order. It had a $20 Shrek picture storybook in it. I'm going to assume it's a joke birthday present from one of my silly friends, but a tiny part of me wonders if it's someone from my past trying to call me an ogre. Either way, how bizarre.

There is a scam where they use your address and a different name to deliver very small items and then send a huge expensive thing once the address is 'validated'

so they are setting up a history for purchases before they make the big scam

Yep! Turn them away if you ever get eyeballs on the delivery persons and complain if you don't so there is some record

It turns out it was my friend who sent the book. How bizarre.

Boyo once received a pack of toothbrushes from Amazon that no one had ordered, but apparently it's a scam, but not to the receiver but a way for the sender to get themselves fake reviews for "legit" sending of a "purchase". I'm sure there's a better way to explain that.

Oddest thing was that boyo had had dental surgery 2 days beforehand.

That would have freaked me the fuck out lol

Oh he was suuuper freaked out. Even more weird: I was in Japan at the time and the toothbrushes had all of their information in Japanese.

OK I would have been removing any and all info about myself online and buying security cameras for the house lol
