I would like to do that, but my comments on negative topics definitely produce more discussion. Just like everywhere else, negative is easier than positive.
One cool thing about Lemmy, unlike Reddit, YouTube, Facebook, etc., is that downvotes (or the negative reaction equivalent) don’t force content upward into others’ feeds via an algorithm. Here, downvoting actually works to abate bad and upsetting content from being seen by more people. Engagement ≠ good content.
