As much as I love Fallout 1 and 2 as they are I would love to see Diablo-esque real time versions of them
I could see it work in the same way that XCOM: The Bureau DeClassified "worked".
Which I still contend is a good game that was let down by a rushed development time. The core concept was fun, but was just a little too slow moving and unfocused.
Not Diablo-esque, but Fallout Tactics uses a hybrid system where you can switch between realtime and turn-based and my (possibly rose-tinted) memories tell me that it actually worked surprisingly well.
The focus was definitely on group tactics rather than action though.
Yes! I played this one only in real time back in the day. It was only years later that I started to play more turn based strategy games. Always wanted to go back and play it again turn based, but have not gotten the chance yet.
