I know this is just supposed to be a joke, but I'm pretty sure that the ven diagram of people who called this inspirational and people who support what the Trump administration is doing is just two completely separate circles.
I actually think they overlap.
Women at NASA already accomplished far more than spending $30m for 10 minutes in space. Frankly, calling this inspirational feels insulting.
It's the woo girl type of feminism. Simulacra of accomplishments are used as simulacra of performative progress. The real issues are glossed over and everyone can cheer for rich women.
The overlap is "stupid people who fawn over the rich". There's a LOT of those
