My partner was imprisoned for advocating for democracy in her country. What's happening here is not enough. (lemmy.sdf.org)

I'm sure we all feel great seeing photos and videos of huge protests. This isn't accomplishing much. We need more. I don't know what that is. I just know that we need it.

She was imprisoned in her home country for criticizing the royal family in her home country. That was six years ago. She escaped and came here as a refugee. We're not making waves to protect her. How fucked up is that.
