I still use reddit for some niche topics that have like zero activity on Lemmy. But still, I feel kinda bad over it... What about you people?

There's no mexican (or latinoamerican) content on Lemmy other than government propaganda, I am starting to feel bad about being on Lemmy more than being on Reddit.

Have you peeked inside of that instance? It's basically dead, lol.
The thing is, they were brigaded very close to their beginning and were forced into whitelisting federation, which means most of the newer instances are never federated.

Now as a personal problem... they federate with ml and grad, I migrated from dbzero because they federated with hex and ml, I'm not going to put myself through that again, I picked cafe because it defederated the 3 main propaganda ones and it's still a problem (every time I see something about México, it's always propaganda. Always).

The other problem is they claim to enjoy dark humor... but it ends up being the joke is feminism, lol or the joke is racism, lol and such, so I rather not touch them at all.

And last but not least, as I said, it's basically dead, only their owners post there and I saw them trying to promote it on Reddit before, but mexicans in general just don't care about these kind of things, they want their instant app, instant gratification and trying anything new is bad, scary and should not even be attempted. Wish I was joking but that's how most are. So I don't think we'll ever see and influx of mexicans on the fediverse.

Yeah the Anglocentrism is super unfortunate. Speaking as an European. Though I don't really like hanging out on the internet with people from my country though lol

I found that Mastodon has a lot more international content. Tho that could also be a function of who you choose to follow there.

The problem with mastodon as a latinoamerican, is you will find a shitload of political posts from other countries, except your own and if you try using spanish, it's almost everything from spain, so that's a huge no.

Yes, I know you'll have better luck if you try with tags, believe me, I've tried, there's basically nothing at all.
There's just no content for us and I'm not going to risk making a comm when there's so many users (and 3 instances) who defend the propaganda from my country.
