Resigning isn't courageous.

It takes a long time to fire a long term fed, but if you resign a bootlicker takes your desk tomorrow and does what you wouldn't.

Those are not positions that take drop-in replacements, no matter how smart they are.

On the other hand, if/when a saner administration comes in, these are the people you would hire for senior positions due to integrity.
