Some things you make are not to be shared. These include:

Do not be a jerk.

MODERATORS

Do progress updates, or even ideation posts, fit this community?

Motivations:

  • I don't ton of free time, which means when I finally finish something I'm much more likely to share the end result and not get into the details that eventually got me there. IMO the details, especially the failures along the way, are a lot more interesting than just the result and provide more opportunity for teaching/learning
  • Big projects can be daunting. Talking about the journey will help others be more willing to set off on their own journey

I would be happy to include updates on whatever electronic doohickies I am fiddling with. Usually it's mechanical keyboards, but not always. I wanted a new weather clock but then I just repurposed a 12 year old ipad instead. I was very proud.

Go for it! Those sound like things I would be interested in reading about.

I've been (slowly) battling making a hand powered generator with one of my kids who's fascinated by these kinds of things. I am going to try to put together a post describing where we are, why progress is currently stopped, and what I'm doing to try to get over the hurdle.

Very nice. Did you pull the switches apart to fiddle with the springs? I've never seen that many, or really any, springs in the same photo as a mechanical keyboard before.
