Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is warning that his country will likely lose its war with Russia without U.S. military support.

Ukraine has increased its military defense production since Russia launched its full-scale invasion but has a “low chance” of survival if the U.S. cuts support under President Donald Trump, Zelenskyy said Friday in an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“It will be very, very, very difficult,” he said in the interview with Kristen Welker scheduled to air Sunday. “And, of course, in all the difficult situations, you have a chance. But we will have a low chance — low chance to survive without support of the United States.”

Please Europe help Ukraine!

At this moment, Europe is already doing most of the helping. The latest report about transfered military material, as of February 9 (note: a few countries, for example Finland, do no disclose what they send):

I believe that Europe can do more - sometimes at the cost of lowering its own preparedness (but Russia is not currently in a state that allows attacking one more country). So a reduction in capability seems like a risk one could take in the short term.

I also see indications that Europe might do more (e.g. Commission allows countries to exceed budget balancing limits on defense spending).

I also see indications that some European arms industries have already increased production (e.g. SAAB indicating that it can make 400 000 units of NLAW next year).
