There's a quote from Arthur "Bomber" "It's Literally Not A War Crime if They're Nazis" Harris that I think nails a fundamental fact of fascist "thought."
"The Nazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everyone else, and no one was going to bomb them."
It speaks to a couple core thought patterns in fascists. One, they are the only ones with agency, and two, as a result, they often don't give proper consideration to the reaction to the action.
The war will be over before winter. The liberals will just give up, they don't have the spine for a fight. We will be greeted as liberators. They count on our trade too much to forge new partnerships or respond with counter tariffs.
