the mods on [email protected] randomly decided to move to [email protected] because of "moderation reasons" which is very vague and they didn't ask the users what they thought should happen first.
They've clarified since but just leaves a bad taste in the mouth of a lot of users. As a large central instance is very negative to the entire point of the fediverse, people split off into [email protected] which is what this post is on.
Also the "moderation reasons" is that the original 196 mods didn't agree with some of the bans Ada (Blahaj admin) has made in the past. Blahaj is very curated and essentially a 0 tolerance policy for transphobia + other bad stuff while the og 196 mods want a firm set of rules that arent as "vibes based" as they put it.
Imo it's understandable to want to moderate how you want, but they really should have moved to a smaller instance instead of .world and should have asked the community first.
For right now:
[email protected] = ~~locked, no new posts allowed~~ Unlocked, still under control of OG mods [email protected] = the 196 that is forking from the mods. I will be using this one personally.
[email protected] = the 196 that the mods moved to. Not locked, so idk if they're still planning on moving π€
However this situation is ongoing so it may change, also my explanation may not be 100% accurate as I don't really know all the behind the scenes communication with Ada (Blahaj admin).
Also you should look at the pinned post on [email protected] if you want to know more in detail :)
I'm not even a transphobe and they recently banned me for transphobia.
No one thought to make 197? Or 691?π€
Minor correction: you have the wrong community address under the third item in your βFor right nowβ section. Should be [email protected] I think.
ah thanks! Comment edited :)
