Criteria: I'm looking for instances that are defed' with the Big 3 tankies (lemmygrad, lemmy.ml, and hexbear). I have no interest in trying to persuade my friends to create an acc and set up instance blocks before diving in, or dealing with the feedback when they run into the tankie brigade.

Edit: lemmy.cafe and infosec.pub seem to fit. I also find it really interesting just how many of the replies totally ignored my stated criteria.

Btw you can block instances in your settings. Also I would argue lemmy.ml is not as “tankie” as the other two.

Yeah it's quite less tankie than the other two, but you can still be banned and/or have your content deleted for criticizing communism

Didn’t know that!

Ok? Why does that matter if you’re not on their server

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

it doesn't matter at all if you don't post/comment on communities hosted there

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Even if you do, the worst thing that can happen is them banning you on a bunch of their communities

I mean you can post and comment on the programmer humor community pretty long before stumbling on the topic of communism. But yeah I don't think we disagree here

lemmy.ml is not as tankie, but that bar is the height of my little toe.

Blocking instances at user level is pointless, they just repost to instances/communities that tolerate them and boom, you get to see their propaganda.
Also their users are encouraged to be deranged so you still have to deal with those.
It's always better to just isolate them.
