I'm also worried about the fact that these people don't seem to know the difference between an articulate child who appears to be around four years old and a baby.
Maybe that's why they shot him with a laser in the first place. They think that's how you feed a baby.
It's an Agent J situation. A rocket lands from outer space, despite being blasted with anti-air defenses, and out pops... a human child? Bullshit. And it speaks English? Blast the fucker.
You did not pinpoint Earth from a zillion miles away, using technology beyond our wildest dreams, and forget how to operate a radio. Some cosmic empire tried to sneak this skinwalker into the population. Diplomacy is plan B for both of us.
