Interesting! There is a similar specialty in Austria called Schmiaschrischnuepflmarfl but the ingredients usually include some chamois liver as well. And it's used for a slightly different purpose since it's normally served at a funeral to remind the attendance about the musculature of the legs of the departed.
As always, the Austrians are copying and perverting our sacred, ancient customs.
