I presume COL is less? Honestly been thinking of trying to get out of the US, unsure if tech jobs can get me a work visa or whatever, but I'm definitely starting to research.

skilled work visas are dumb easy in the EU. In part, because the best international talent is fighting for getting into the US. Cuz ya know, you'll make 3-5 times the salary as a software dev.

But if you're the one who knows why you don't want that fat pay check and want a sane society instead, there are places like Berlin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen. You don't even need to learn the language to move there and have a great professional and social life.
