In another bizarre attempt to “own the libs” just by confusing them, openly anti-LGBTQ+ performer Kid Rock has been enlisted to headline a fundraiser for the self-loathing Log Cabin Republicans, the gay conservatives group.

The onetime Detroit rapper-now MAGA acolyte will headline the fundraiser “Red White & Rock,” the LCR announced over the weekend. The gay conservatives billed the event as a “star-studded concert uniting conservatives and celebrating American spirit.”

The high-dollar event takes place in Nashville on September 29, with special guests Richard Grenell, Donald Trump’s out, onetime acting director of National Intelligence in the last, chaotic days of the twice-impeached president’s administration, and forever-fiancé Kimberly Guilfoyle, who’ll serve as emcee of the event, if never Donald Trump Jr’s bride.

For the finale, he's going to call everyone a F***** and then sledge some Budweiser like Gallagher.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Gallagher, another mildly famous nutjob.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Although he was admittedly more fun to watch in concert than kr

I saw him once, well before he'd gone off the rails, but when he was definitely past his peak. Probably ... 1988? It was a fun show.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I'm ootl on this one. How did Gallagher get off the rails?

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Went full maga. Mostly after he won his court case against his brother, Gallagher II. While he won, his whole family essentially stopped talking to him, his comedy failed to keep up with the times while he kept doubling down on things people no longer found funny. Then he walked out of that Marc Maron podcast like a pissbaby.

Just read about the case because I was kind of interested figured I'd share

Apparently his brother Ron had his own comedy show dubbed himself Gallagher II even though he was not Gallagher II

I assume the family side with Ron wanting a second shot in ancestral money and fame and Leo was still too salty that is unchanging act throughout the years was no longer bringing in the bucks and refuse to let him use his name as a springboard

And remember, he (Gallagher 2) had an agreement with Gallagher to do old Gallagher material he didn't use anymore in his Gallagher 2 performances. And they did it to fuck over carrot top too.

sadly, the mustache mistake bit was probably his peak :)

Wait, who is Gallagher? I thought y'all were talking Liam Gallagher sonce he is also pretty crazy, but i can't picture him as a MAGA nutjob.

Huh. I thought he had died a lot earlier than 2022.

Just his career.

Theatre kid here. A friend of mine was tech director at a local theartre, a converted 'show palace' style place, really beautiful. Anyway, I remember him campaigning HARD against them booking Gallagher in the early 2010's, because he had played a show there about a decade prior and had evidently made it his goal to create as much of a mess for the crew as possible. Purposefully aimed chunks of fruit he was throwing around at lighting instruments to gunk them up, etc. Evidently, the universal sentiment among everyone who worked that show was that Gallagher was a dick.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

I'm sure. I was a dick back in '88, that's probably why I thought it was a fun show.
