I used to overclock my android phones back in the day, change kernel settings and it would run way better. That was around 10 years ago, I then started UC (underclocking) as phones got better and didn't need as much power so I could save battery. As of now I don't mess with OC or UC anymore as a custom rom seems to be enough to run fast and have great battery.
