In my part of Virginia, they have established noise laws. Seem pretty fair

ordinance defines daytime as 7 AM–10 PM on weekdays and 9 AM–10 PM on weekends and holidays, and nighttime as any time outside of daytime.

The ordinance limits noise levels to 60 decibels during the day and 55 decibels at night in residential areas.

The law has a surprising amount of detail regarding things like vehicle noise, construction, etc.

I'm not convinced I could mow a lawn under 60dB,

You could do a manual push mower! I’ve been looking to get one, I hear they’re much better for your lawn health and certainly help with getting a workout of it.

60dB is about the noise level of a household dishwasher. I think I could break that noise ordinance just taking out the trash, rolling the big plastic wheelybin the town issued me down my driveway to the street.

Incidentally I'm stealing the term "wheelybin" from the British. I'm willing to render it "wheelycan" to localize it to the New World if need be.

Yeah most of those are in the 80db range.

Maybe an electric or manual push mower could get below that.

Weed Wacker are also pretty loud.
