I mean yes but Jesus Christ they're helping us douse an active house fire, this is all hands on deck.
a house fire they helped light and fueled, before they retired and suddenly started speaking out, totally not in an attempt to angle for a speaking head job at some network where they can play both sides.
call me crazy, but I don't particularly want an arsonists help with regards to putting out fire.
Problem is, they still want to splash gasoline everywhere because they pretend they like the smell while they own the place that sells it, and deny having to do anything with creating the current problem at all.
We don't need them. If they stop alienating the left and everyone else who's vehemently against genocide, the people in the ideological sliver between the most conservative Democrats and the least conservative MAGA cult members become electorally irrelevant.
While I wish that were true, it's simply not, there's still more movable "moderates" in between Democrats and MAGA for them to matter massively electorally, and still far far too few leftist Democratic voters for them to have to listen to.
I've only ever heard this as a talking point but never backed up with any data. There are hundreds of thousands of voters to win in key states by forcing Israel to agree to a permanent ceasefire with conditional military aid that requires them to abide by International Law
Here's the most recent data from Pew
Far more Americans still lean Pro-Israel.
It's certainly not far more unless you're only looking at Republicans.
From the poll:
But this poll does not discuss Americans view on a ceasefire. If you poll democrats and independents in swing states on that issue you get the following:
You say “genocide is bad”, but can you also say with me “islam is bad”?
Not that it has anything to do with any current genocide but sure, Islam IS bad. Not any worse than Christianity is, though. 🤷
literally nobody has done more in government to push for a ceasefire than biden and harris....
Yeah, excuse me if I don't jump for joy at the thought of a cease fire that Netanyahu has no intention of honoring if, against all odds, he signs it.
What's needed is for the US and other countries to stop supplying weapons to commit genocide with, at the very least, and preferably treat the fascist apartheid regime like they treated that of South Africa.
