MODERATORS

Several thousand people on Saturday joined a street demonstration and rally in Berlin organized by Germany's "Lateral Thinking" protest movement.

The protest faction, best known for staging demonstrations against COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, was calling for a reassessment of government measures and "consequences for those responsible."

However, a large contingent also protested against the German government's push to rebuild the country's military.

Oh may, i walked for a lady who couldn't walk 5 steps without being out of breath. She had covid 2 years ago and was still miserable. Her biggest takeaway was: at least i didn't get vaccinated.

I would never talk to people about their vaccine status and shit like that, but so many people have told me that they got vaccinated, but would never do it again, because of some tinfoil shit. A few people told me that "not enough people died in the pandemic, so the government has to push another one." The next sentence is something that they need more people for "the war" that's why they vaccinate people. It's just some convoluted bullshit and a mixture between 7 conspiracy theories. We are truly fucked, and honestly maybe that's a good thing.

Man it fucking sucks people care so much about not vaxxing. If they vaxxed my family members may still be alive…

And don’t get me wrong vaccines are good, but they don’t perfectly protect you.

I had 3 shots and I’m still bedridden from Long COVID. My childhood friend had 2 shots and he still died.

But if it can reduce the death rates and most importantly reduce the spread, you’d be dumb not to get it.

And now because I have long covid afterb3 shots, every right wing nut in my family is saying I’m sick “because of the vaccines” 🤦 (if they even believe im sick at all)

There's a phrase that resonated but never caught on: "epistemic crisis."

We're dealing with people who barely know what truth looks like. They will throw out incompatible ideas one after the other and not even grasp how they could contradict one another. Like that's not a thing ideas do. Their conspiracy theories don't even need theories. You can motion in the vague direction of an evil scheme by someone to do something, and if it has enough fnords, the Fox News crowd will latch on and repeat it forever.
