She did it to herself. She knows, and has always known, exactly what he is. She is a willing participant, not a victim.
"They deserved to be cheated on" is pretty much never a good claim to make. She's still a shitty human being though and does deserve the stress of media and public breathing down her and her family's neck.
I didn't read it as "deserved" so much as went into the relationship for money and lifestyle knowing full well that he would absolutely not be faithful
That's basically the "What was she wearing?" of infidelity.
She knew what she signed up for.
