I mean, does Neptune have oil???
We might need a little more to finish destroying our sole, communal habitat. Anything worth doing is worth doing well!
it's got diamond rain, man.
oh... a-and thousand mph wind.
Bunch of diamonds tossed around in 1000 mph winds, what could be the worst that happens...
Keep that shit down, or the US will have to "bring freedom" to Neptune.
Diamonds aren't actually worth that much. It has a very troubled history involving exploitation and slavery among other disturbing subjects. The price is kept artificially high by a huge cartel and good marketing saying artificial diamonds aren't as good as the "real" diamonds. In reality artificial diamonds are better in every way, but I guess it's the slavery that adds that je ne sais quoi.
It's just become steeped in tradition, and sorry to be a stereotypical edgelord and quote Rick Sanchez but scientifically, traditions are an idiot thing.
There is something to be said for diamonds as everyday jewelry; being the hardest material out there makes them hella durable.
But, jewelry is 100% a complete scam.
in what way is jewlwey a scam? it looks nice
Does it though?
I mean I personally like how it looks. if people didn't no one would wear it. if its not your thing its not your thing :)
Well, tradition is opposed to the scientific method, which advocates constantly reassessing what you think you know, if that's what you meant.
what is je ne sais quoi
Literally 'I don't know what', it means a special something that gives a thing a unique charm.
i see, thank you
