Book 4 of the Wheel of Time (about half way through). Series has been something I've started on and off for 20 years, but picked up the first book after my Dad died a couple of months back and finding it a lot easier to stick with it this time around.
I've tried to get through it twice, but my interest/will dies around book 6 or 7. I just end up hating every character, the writing, everything. On the other hand I have friends who have read the entire series a couple of times and absolutely love it.
I might give it another try before I die. I had about 15 years between my attempts. I did enjoy The Expanse. The problem is, there are so many fantastic books out there that I haven't read.
