Can tell a business will go the way of the dodo when it requires passwords to have janky symbols, forced capitalization, or weird numbers of letters (self.showerthoughts)

Administrators implement those password restrictions to prevent security breaches.

I'd rather have the tighter security if it keeps my credit card safe.

I will put the bold claim out there that if companies like banks salt your password and lock you out after 4 attempts you don't really need that much in the way of end user password complexity. The only practical attack at that point is denial of service.

I was thinking stores. Amazon, Etsy, eBay, smaller stores etc.
