It's not a massive issue but it could become one. A lot of AAA studios are chasing the dragon that essentially came from mobile games and trying to bring the shady practices to traditional games. Some with more success than others. Remember when almost every publisher were trying to make their own battle royale. They haven't fully given up on that instead they're chasing a more broader live service game. Even though they've went away from just focusing on the same genre but instead the same money making mechanics, these live service games stop l still all feel very similar. That's the issue.
