A protagonist who is psychologically damaged from all the teasing about his non-conformity, and can't take a compliment, yet he remains good at heart.

He has come to this high school of delinquents to fight his way to become top delinquent, but that is old information, and the current gang at the high school is actually protecting the town, or at least this one shopping street, from roving gangs.

Some of the fighting is well animated, with kinetic visual impacts, good foley (sound effect) work, while keeping it at a somewhat realistic level.

Realistically, the guy fighting alone would have been pinned down and beaten to a pulp quickly, but instead the chanbara style fight choreography sending the thugs in one at a time to get beaten.

The name of the high school that our protagonist joins is Furin

Thanks to the students/delinquents protecting them, the locals, have nicknamed them Bofurin, which translates to wind break/shelter belt hence the title of the series "Wind Break"

(also note this where the nickname of the "I Maxxed Out My Defense" comedy anime Bofuri comes from)

A very different take on high school delinquents from last season's Bucchigiri?!?

This looks like it'll be fun!

Oh! I was a bit confused where the nickname "bofurin" came from, but ended up forgetting to look it up. That's neat, thanks for sharing!
