How does the fire breaker interact with armor? I know fire is supposed to ignore it, but I'm not sure if the exact interaction between armor piercing and fire.

The bullet damage doesn't penetrate, but the fire damage does. So it can still kill things like Hive Guards pretty easily. I usually don't use it against bots though, but maybe it's better on this latest patch?

Excellent! Yeah it seems like a pretty significant buff, I'm excited to try it out.
