So recently LibGen got taken down due to the indirect interference of Meta (literal stealing) and media influencers (they might as well have been using megaphones to advertise it in front of law enforcement). It's very likely that they'll move on to other host websites like z library, Anna's, and maybe even access websites like scihub and 12ft.

As someone who couldn't find what I needed on them, bought a book, scanned it and uploaded it to LibGen before, it annoys me to see people take advantage of these hosts, it's like your parents giving you a bit more pocket money because they won a lottery and you tell the neighborhood about it.

So what's the next step if we want these hosts to keep existing? Do we need to hide it better? Keep opening new hosts? Or is it just inevitable that everyone will need to dish out hundreds of dollars to the publishers?

Many Indian family including myself have this “box” that allows them to watch channels from other countries. it’s like 100 bucks per year and it allows you watch anything live. Basically it displays other countries channels where sports are less popular, such as a UK channel called tnt sports / box office that shows every ufc ppv. It’s much more reliable than any streaming site and is in better quality too. Is there anyway I can replicate this or find another source to get that tnt channel that shows ufc events and basket ball games.

Cineby and miroru are actually peak. Like better then their payed alternatives. Better ui. More customization (CINEBY HAS THE ABILITY TO CUSTOM COLOR THE FUCKING SUBTITLES)) holy shit why don't actual paid sites make it this fucking user friendly. This is wild.

Edit: piracy*

So as a 90's kid, am familiar with 2600 magazine, X-Copy, BBS's, DVDs, Napster then early Usenet.

Now my kid needs to stay safe online, so obviously I teach about uBlock Origin, Debloating Windows, VPNs, qBittorrent with search plugins (per user 😭), fitgirl-repacks.site, Public Torrent sites, magnet links, pirating off iPlayer, archive.org etc.

My point is, it's still a minefield to me; how are the next generation going to carry on the ☠️ tradition? Console piracy is basically dead, stuff getting way more corporate/locked down. What if/when other mediums follow suit?

I teach music in a public school but the city I live in cut funds for education. This means that the kids won’t have music classes until the end of the year and I am gonna disappear for them from next week on.

I have Thursday and Friday 5 classes and I’m gonna boot up a streaming site to watch “school of rock” with the kids. I’ll bring crackers and cookies; hopefully we can have a nice, last class together. I am so mad at the people in power for doing that, I will have no shame doing this on the school PCs at all.

It looks like the most trusted streaming platform (mentioned in the megathread) has gone down? Any attempts to access results in "movies.7xtream.com redirected you too many times." anyone else having this issue? if so is it indicative of a permanent shutdown of the site?

Didn't know how else to word the title concisely. The long and short of it is, that I have a Mac and I pirated Final Cut Pro. What are the chances that I actually get f--d for it(lose my Apple ID, etc)? I'm sure some folks on an Apple sub may be more knowledgable about this, but they'd just tell me to buy the software lmao

There is no error page. It simply says "timeout getting image links" and kicks me back to the pages list. I tried everything from internet change, my VPN, changed my user agent, reinstalled the extension, etc. WebView works fine. I tried read comics online but its incomplete. XOXOcomics gives me captcha check every goddamn minute. Does anyone know any decent working extension for western comics that won't kick me in the ass? thanks in advance

RAR passwords? (zerobytes.monster)

I just spent a good amount of time downloading some ROM collections that have been compressed in RAR format, only to find out that the RARs are all password-protected when I try to extract the files. There's no real information on the source about why these were password-locked or where to obtain it. Is there any way to bypass-crack the password in this situation?

Yesterday I watched the Arsenal vs Real Madrid game on a livestream, and I noticed something strange. My upload usage was unusually high. Checked Task Manager and saw that I was uploading data to multiple IP addresses and ISPs.

Turns out, the site I was using (PPV Land and streamed.su, two very popular streaming sites) was likely using a peer-to-peer streaming method, so it was using some of my connection to stream the game to others.

By halftime, it had used about 5GB of upload data. I only caught it because I had a bandwidth monitor app running. Most people probably wouldn’t notice at all.

So just letting you guys know. Since I’m pretty sure the general consensus in pirating is that just watching live steams is as safe as just leeching/downloading. But I don’t think this is any different then torrenting without VPN. Correct me if I’m wrong.

With paid subscriptions getting so expensive, I want to find a cheaper way but don't know where to start. I've tried reading various threads and pages online etc but really struggle with it (mostly because I learn best being shown by someone and I don't know any pirates!). Is there a really, even-an-idiot-would-understand-it guide I'm missing? Dunno if it makes a difference that I really only have an android phone to use too (I can Chromecast).

There's a anime/donghua I want to watch but it's has 120+ episode, I can't download them in my device. I know I can just google it I will get some websites to watch in but the video quality and subtitles are not good they feel like they are au generated. So I found s torrent that has good of both quality and subtitles.

Thanks in advance.
