I forgot to turn on my VPN while downloading a TV episode on PirateBay while on my university’s Wi-Fi. Today, the IT department emailed me saying my account was flagged for excessive resource usage and a copyright violation, it was reported by a studio company. They listed my IP/MAC and warned it could impact the university or lead to legal action.

I'm outside the US so I've always pirated without any issues, so I never thought I'd be hit with this or ISPs would care.

I haven’t responded yet. I don't know how to approach this. Should I admit it and apologize, or just ask for details?

Any help would be appreciated

here is my guide on how to reset the 30-day trial for the NiceLabel Designer PowerForms software.

Once a year, I need to print some labels for personal use, and getting access to this software at a reasonable price in my region is impossible.

Installation:

1. Download NiceLabel from the official website:

You can use any email to download new NiceLabel 10.5. The website automatically downloads the installer and does not send a link via email.

2. During installation, you can uncheck Automation if you don’t need it.

You can also uncheck Collection and reporting anonymous usage data.

3. After installation, open NiceLabel Designer 10 and click Start Trial → Select Module: Designer PowerForms to test the highest version of the software.

Resetting the 30-day trial:

1. Open C:\ProgramData or %programdata% and delete NiceLabel folder as an administrator.

2. Reinstall NiceLabel 10.5 → Select Repair NiceLabel 10 installation.

After the repair, the 30-day trial option will appear again.

Simply deleting the folder NiceLabel is not enough. If you just delete it and restart the program, the 30-day trial will end.

Hello.

I downloaded it twice from a site I can't post because automod deletes everything.

The reason is that is a very very very expensive game and most official stores have very arbitrary return policies. Everyone praises Valve's but it's so random that has flagged regular players as 'system abusers' or Humble Bundle shadowbanning you for using certain words (ie Gift) in support requests.

I do want to support developers and all that but I don't want to play this silly games when I just want to test if the game would run well in my system, specially with a 70 dollar game out of nowhere.

I downloaded the torrent via magnet link in that site and the setup.exe got flagged as a virus "win32 trojan blabla". I thought it was a false positive but then I thought someone could have altered the files in the torrent so deleted it without installing or clicking and redownload it from the direct files, the 102 zipped files and the 71 optional texture files just because... and then windows defender quarantined the exe as well.

I heard people claiming the indiana jones was a virus but then it was discovered they didn't use the official site, I thought it was that one. Is this a false positive?

This post serves as a "guide" for those who used to use cracked Spotify and are looking for alternatives after the "ban", some of these are paid while some are totally free, this guide will go from the cheapest way to the most expensive

1. Downloading the music (FREE) If you only care about your playlists, you can download your music so you can keep playing it outside of Spotify, to download your music, check this section and this section of FMHY, for each section I prefer lucida and Music_Hunters respectively, although the first is often down. 4. Getting a ""lifetime"" subscription (PAID) (NOT RECOMMENDED) Some people, called "upgraders", will sell you a lifetime spot in their Spotify family for a fixed price, this option is not recommended unless you need Spotify on your smart devices (such as Amazon echo or Google home) or you can find a cheap offer with a lifetime warranty.

I've been looking around on torrenting sites, and at least for the anime I'm trying to watch, It's not labeled as Crunchyroll subtitles. Is there any way to know 100% that the anime torrent is Crunchyroll, or is there any way to know if a streaming site uses Crunchyroll subtitles? The specific anime is MHA.

I got the "playlist is empty" error, which I know is caused by region mismatch. However even when i set vpn to correct region, the error didnt get fixed. I tried many apks, and none of then worked. I also changed account settings to match where i am living, but error persists. Anybody know how to fix this? Did they finally fixed spotify modding?

Woke up today and my modded spotify is all fucked up, i downloaded and tried about 4 other mods and none of them worked either. No songs show up and in albums or playlists and when i try to search one up and play it it doesn't play and i get a pop up that says "you've discovered a premium feature!"

I've been using modded spotifies since i got an android phone and money is really tight so idk if i even could pay for spotify premium right now 😭 if anyone has a working spotify mod i would highly appreciate it.

There is a particular site that airs an international show I like. Extensions like VDH don't register any downloadable content on the site. And jdownloader (when I add the url link) just fills up with an endless list of offline content and garbled junk like random jpeg files and stuff. Is there another program or any tips anyone here can offer when these tools don't work? I am using a mac if that matters.

So I have a REMUX of a movie .mkv with MakeMKV program.

Whenever I try to place this remux in my seedbox by FTP into downloads folder, the file stops at around 35% and gives a popup ''Target file already exists''. I have to choose between Overwrite, Rename, etc. The source file size is around 23GB but target file size stays at around 7GB no matter the option I choose.

I know that Blu rays are split into multiple 'sections' but didn't know that this was the case with .MKV as well, am I doing something wrong here?
