Hello just curious as to when we could expect an update to 0.19.8 since it's a very recent and also stable update which fixes a lot of the bugs in 0.19.6 and 0.19.7.

I understand that an update is a big deal and takes careful consideration. Just wanted to ask about it, and also maybe let you guys know it's out in case you didn't.

Summary

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) lost her bid to lead Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, defeated 131-84 by Rep. Gerry Connolly in a secret caucus vote.

Reports suggest former Speaker Nancy Pelosi actively lobbied against AOC, backing Connolly by making calls and using political capital to sway votes.

Connolly, 74, cited his experience and record as decisive factors in his victory, despite progressive disappointment over AOC’s loss.

Supporters viewed AOC’s bid as a chance to revitalize Democratic strategy, calling the outcome a missed opportunity for the party.

  • This marks the 75th anniversary of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act, which created our National Parks and National Landscapes

  • This move comes amid the Government’s push to promote access to nature, as part of the wider Plan for Change

New powers are to be granted to the country’s iconic National Parks and National Landscapes to boost nature’s recovery and access to the outdoors.

New legislation and guidance will give National Parks and National Landscapes a clear mandate to widen the public’s access to nature through strengthened purposes and make changes to improve their governance that will allow for greater innovation and collaboration to prepare them for the future.

The changes announced today will see more trees planted, more peat restored and more habitat created, supporting Protected Landscapes to play a leading role in meeting Net Zero, Environment Act targets and the commitment to protect 30% of land for nature by 2030 as part of our Plan for Change.

Naltrexone (self.stopdrinking)
submitted 2 hours ago by Outtatime to c/[email protected]

Has anybody here had experience with naltrexone? I recently started taking it because the cravings were so strong I couldn't take it anymore. My only side effects have been mild muscle and joint pain, slight nausea, and decreased appetite. Also, I tried to drink a beer while on it and it just made me feel sick so I threw it away. I got sober last June and I slipped up a few times since then, but this medicine has helped me a ton. Curious if anybody has had a similar or different experience.

A former leader of the Church of England has resigned as a priest following allegations that he failed to properly handle the case of a priest accused of sexual misconduct.

George Carey, who was archbishop of Canterbury from 1991 to 2002, quit after a BBC investigation reported that he allowed a priest who had been banned over sexual abuse claims to return to priesthood.

The Eden Project National Wildflower Centre (NWC) and volunteers who are known as the Wildflower Warriors – have been collecting seed by hand in a bid to bring colour and life to a major new link road being built in Cornwall.

The NWC is part of the Eden Project and has been coordinating the huge task of gathering, cleaning, sowing, growing and harvesting sufficient wildflower seed to plant the route of nearly four miles.

Construction of the link road between the A30 and St Austell is in the final phase. Seed sowing along approximately 45 acres of banks and verges began this autumn and will create a corridor of what organisers say is “vitally important” wildflower, woodland and heathland habitats. There will be new routes for cycling, walking and horse-riding on five and a half miles of newly built paths.

I have installed simplewall on Windows, which is a application level firewall which is supposed to block all requests from unwanted apps and only allow requests on apps that I specifically allow.

There is a game I am playing (Inside, pirated, not purchased), which is blocked in simplewall (Not user defined rule, should be blocked by default)

When using mitmproxy, I however found these HTTPS requests. Reading the request body, it seems like these are my progresses in the game being sent to https://api.uca.cloud.unity3d.com/v1/events.

Wasn't simplelogin supposed to block all HTTP+HTTPS requests? Also isn't it creepy how even video game progress is being collected by Unity?

I'm not authenticated on Steam or GOG or some other place for it to remember my progress for future. Yet it's all "200" in the response codes. It's not even trying to do some kind of verification prior to collection. It's just collecting data.

A species of seabird hit by a devastating avian flu outbreak is making a "painfully slow recovery" at Shetland's national nature reserves.

NatureScot reported a slight increase in the number of great skua at Hermaness and Noss national nature reserves (NNRs), but said it could take "years, if not decades" to get back to pre-virus levels.

The full census of the species, for which Shetland is a global stronghold, was carried out as part of a probe into how populations are faring following the H5N1 influenza strain outbreak of 2022.
