For context, they are referencing Tarepanda.
I never know where this series is going. I had thought we were going to pretend to be her boyfriend to get close and investigate. However, now we are just talking directly with another one of her boyfriends, trying to save him?
Totally agree. I will copy/paste over the relevant portion of what I wrote in the discussion thread over there:
It's amazing how much chemistry the main pair of characters can have when you have them actually recognize their own feelings and communicate with one another. These two just blew right through half a dozen different romcom will they/won't they tropes in one episode:
- Ayase wouldn't let Okarun ignore her at the school gate
- they both recognize that they couldn't wait to talk to the other during school
- they shared the briefest of accidental (and painful) kisses
- they told each other how much they wanted to find the other to talk during lunch
- Okarun dumped out his heart about how he wanted to talk to her in front of her friends
- Ayase reconciled with him and dished out a wash basin of revenge on somebody playing with Okarun
- finally, they were back to normal (minus some balls) by the end of the episode
Step aside every other romcom out there. Dan Da Dan doesn't have the time to deal with this tropey trash. It's got bigger balls to find.

There is so much good I can say about this episode, but one thing I want to call out in particular is the directing during the lunch sequence when they were looking for (and missing) each other. That sequence was immensely satisfying to watch and the way the shots were sequenced and framed was magnificent.
Trivia for the day: In Japanese, the way you write testicles is 金玉 (kintama). If you look at the kanji individually, it is gold ball. So, now we know what this scene in the OP is referencing:
That chapter was a ride. Alan had been kind of an annoying antagonist up to this point, but all it took was a couple pages and it made so much more sense. The sudden jump from them flirting to beheading was jarring, but effective.
I totally buy that this guy would find it difficult to live with himself if he were to let an electric doll walk away. He also never uses her name, just calls her electric doll instead.
I love how Biamam (the scanlation group) has leaned into the silliness of things. The Peter Parker disappearing reference killed me and I am sure this is likely not there in the raws.
Doesn't look like it. On the official website, there is an interest signup form where you enter your territory and city. So, I am guessing they might be using that to prioritize showing locations? Tickets don't go on sale until November 13th.
I don't think it is purely recency bias when I say Oshi no Ko.
I also remember revenge being a recurring theme in Naruto, but I would be hesitant to call it a revenge anime.
I hate my brain that this was the first series I thought of. I haven't watched the anime, but have read a portion of the manga.
Came across this series and got to add it to the pile of cute cooking series I follow.
Matthias is not doing himself any favors in trying to beat the motherly allegations.
