Thanks for letting me know. I'll give it another chance. A lot of effort went into this game and I don't want that to go to waste (if that makes sense).

Is the story interesting (or get better)? All I remember is "babby", so I didn't give it a chance. It's currently on sale and I'm debating buying it to give it another go.

It does looks wonderful though.

Penumbra was a treat. I played it after the original Amnesia when I wanted more. Holds up surprisingly well and is spooky, especially Black Plague. The setting of The Bunker is reminiscent of Black Plague now that I think about it.

Also, it's available on GOG for us that prefer it :)

I get waiting. Gives the reviews time to mellow out and the devs to patch issues.

You're not missing out on Rebirth (unfortunately). I, like everyone else, was expecting an "Amnesia" game (like Soma or the original title). I have no idea what happened during development. Maybe they wanted to try something different, but it just didn't work. You were CONSTANTLY interrupted with flashbacks. Like every 30 seconds or everytime you picked up some note. I hear it gets much better the second half of the game, but I just couldn't sit through it. I love the opening sequence a lot though (watching the city "flash" while in the plane). I thought I was in for a great time.

Salt and Sanctuary (more for it being unpopular vs bad hivemind).

I love Metroidvanias, but combined with Souls-like elements makes for a very fun concoction. This one in particular I have so much fun exploring. The story telling and world building adds to the mystery and the fun of unraveling the story. It has a very good variety of enemies/bosses/items. It also oozes so much atmosphere. One of the better Metroidvanias (I played a fair number of them).

Another one is Dark Souls 2. I get it being disliked; can't be helped as it had a lot of departures from the first. But out of all 3, this one I played x3 as much. I absolutely love the sheer variety of locations (it's ridiculous); exploration is super fun and rewarding.
