Hmm...

According to USCB, the first generation of immigrants is composed of individuals who are foreign-born, which includes naturalized citizens, lawful permanent residents, protracted temporary residents (such as long-staying foreign students and migrant workers, but not tourists and family visitors), humanitarian migrants (such as refugees and asylees), and even unauthorized migrants.

In some definitions, however, those born to at least one immigrant parent are considered "first generation" – or rather, first generation of an immigrant's descendants (i.e., second generation from the USCB definition)

The term 1.5 generation or 1.5G, although not widely used, refers to first-generation immigrants who immigrated to the new country before or during their early teens, ages 6–12. They earn the label the "1.5 generation" because while they spend their formative years engaging in assimilation and socialization in the new country, they often still maintain native language, cultural traits and even national identities from their country of origin. Oftentimes, in the case of small children, a battle of linguistic comprehension occurs between their academic language and the language spoken at home. Their identity is, thus, a combination of new and old culture and tradition. Sociologist RubΓ©n Rumbaut was among the first to use the term to examine outcomes among those arriving in the United States before adolescence, but since then the term has expanded to include foreign students, as well as other unique individuals.

I guess I'm just using the American definition. I'm 1.5 Generation by that definition.

Lol I just pirated it yesterday and watched the first 5 movies. I would kinda get freaked out when random start dropping or if it got windy.

Yea honesly idk how I'd react. I'd probably just act like a good friend and go with them off the vehicle to comfort them, while similtaneously having the goal of getting off the vehicle, two goals done at the same time.

Then if that vehicle actually explodes or whatever, I'm gonna get so freaked out and I'm gonna start getting paranoid about what's the worst way death is gonna get me. Probably my phone exploding, since I kinda have it like 1 feet away from me when I sleep. So just a thermal runaway and BOOM I'm dead. So I place the phone far away in anticipation of this. But then I'm near an airport so perhaps some piece of a plane is gonna break off and smash through the window into me in bed, crushing my head.

Yea idk if I even have the will to survive this, I'm kinda suicidal so I might just kms to get it over with.

I feel like supernatural movies are just made to trigger schizophrenia and cause people to start being paranoid about everything.

Like imagine someone borderline schizophrenic but very chill, then they see The Truman Show and now they go full paranid mode.

Or worse, Inception might cause a suicide.

Some shitty HP Laptop with Intel Core i5 (don't even remember the gen number but was around like 2014-15), something like 256GB or 512GB SSD, 8GB RAM, 1366x768 resolution, webcam, intergrated graphics. Also I think it had touch screen but the grease from my fingers cause it to randomly activate. And even wiping it off still sometimes had those issues.

It had windows 8 but then I updated to windows 10 for free.

(I did mess around with Ubuntu later on)

Its capable of running Skyrim at lowest settings with at least 30 fps, GTA V with 30-50 fps.

It already doesn't have the DVD thing that I saw some older laptop have.

I used a USB-A dongle wireless mouse with it.

Gen Z btw.

Edit: Reading these comments make me feel like Lemmy is a club I'm too young to join lol

In the c/Privacy community, people say e/OS isn't as secure as Graphene OS. Although e/OS has better privacy compared to googled android, but apparantly worse security (late security patches).

Collect at your local FBI office, of course.

Don't worry its very safe, there are some very skilled agents right at the lobby to protect the the money... from the bad guys of course. All you have to do is just walk to the receptionist and ask for it. Looking forward to meeting you! πŸ˜‰

Idk how to calculate that stuff, I just use the bureau's Black Card and write it off as required expenses. What do I need GTA V for FBI work? Its not a Video Game, its a field operation simulator.

(But seriously tho: I've never paid for a movie ticket so I'm just randomly googling and doing a rough estimate)

Oh fuck, this is gonna be so challenging...

Does this mean we use Transliterations instead of Translations for country names?

I think its mostly a PR thing

If shareholders didn't do anything to stop it, then this is their will.

But given that it's a stupid decision, I've elected to ignore it.

(I'm not editing my brain-dictionary for something so stupid)

I'm glad these exists, but remember that these only work as long as device manufacturers don't lock the bootloaders.

Your country's government could pass a law that requires bootloaders to be locked for "national security" reasons, and there'd probably not be much resistance since most people don't even use custom roms. (Looking at you, USA and the autocratization)
