I don't know how the average minimum wage worker can have the time to even care about world events when they are constantly under the threat of getting fired and stuggle to afford food.

Say what you will about Donald (and I don’t like him either), but he wasn’t so weak that he had to forego the primaries)

That's because their base is already in the cult and bought into proaganda, they already knew the conclusion, the primary is a de facto sham election to show off trumps popularity.

Consecutive terms should be eliminated.

If there is no "incumbency advantage", there will be no excuses to "we cant hold a primary because we 'lose the advantage'" bullshit.

I think he was going for a prosecutorial immunity / vance pardon thing. I doubt he cares about his public image at this point

I feel like its gonna be the Samsung-Apple rivalry all over again.

Apple removes a feature

Samsung laughs at Apple

Samsung does the same thing next year

For contacts I kinda get it.

You could have eye conditions that make you unsuitable to use contacts.

For glasses, its absolute bullshit.

An "incorrect" lens placed on the exterior of your face will not harm you (other than making you a bit dizzy).

When you are reading a text post/comment your request goes from:

Your Device --> eviltoast.org (your instance) send you the text --> You receive [eviltoast.org]'s copy of the text

When you see an image that goes from

Your Device --> eviltoast.org gives you the link to image --> Your Device receives the link, then sends a request to retreive image --> OP's instance, OP's instance then send back the image --> Your device receives the image and you see the image

Most instances do not keep a local copy of the image. I don't think I know any instance that makes a local copy. Your instance certainly does not.

I have a magical device that is a camera, map, compass, can capture images, audio, and video, is a pocket notebook, can contact anyone in the entire world, can also summon help as long as I'm close enough to civilization, and can read/listen/watch entertaining content.

And all this I can fit inside my pocket.

Literally not even an absolute monarch have this magic like a 100 years ago. This is so magical!

You can just go online and buy them, they don't care about "expired" prescriptions, they only need the numbers.

Why ruin a potential colony?

Throw that fucker on the sun.

So random memories just pops up when I was thinking about the concept of acting in films/tv.

I remember my mother once getting an unfavorable decision in court (civil trial) and faked crying in court to attempt to reverse the decision. (I'm not gonna explain the details of the lawsuit, because that's kinda a bit too personal) She wasn't even "in the right", she also messed up a lot of legal procedures. And I'm just like: wtf?!? I know the crying is fake. I was trying to get her to leave and stop being so embarassing, so we were leaving and the crying already stopped (I mean it is fake crying), but then she try to go back in and resumes fake crying, zero actual tears btw, complaining to the staff (who aren't even judges btw) that works in the courtroom.

She have always tried the "speak to a manager" trick before, like everywhere she goes. Restaurants, dealing with the utility company, retail returns, attempting to haggle in a store, banking; and like 90% of the time, she isn't really "in the right" and like a majority of the time, "speaking to a manager" didn't change anything. And then even after the they said "no" on a customer service phone call, she still stays on the phone for like half an hour repeating the same demand and hearing the same response.

What's bizzare to me is that, I never thought she'd try this in a courtroom. Like that's not how the world works. It isn't a restaurant, you can't just cause a scene or demand to "speak to a manager" and have problems solved like she always tried to do before. Its a fucking courtroom, and she did not follow legal procedures, and, as a (small) bussiness owner, is reluctant to get a lawyer. Like jesus christ lol.

The same manipulative tactics that she uses on me and like I see though the bullshit.

Anyone just witness such bizzare instances of "karen-ing"?

Okay so I found an older comment which I deleted the image, take a look: https://sh.itjust.works/comment/18929187

If you click "view source" button below the comment, you'll see the url, but if you open anothet tab to try to see it, it will show an error.

That's what images will look like if an instance shuts down.

By "near" I mean like a sphere of 10 Meters around them. You can't manipulate them directly, it has to be a non-living object. You also can't cause anyone else to die before their fated time of death.

So, how do you embarass them.

Trip them down the stairs? (zero injuries remember)

Drop their mug while they try to drink water?

C'mon, what's the most embarassing thing you can do?

I mean those ones with a pin entry keypad/touchscreen built onto the device and has limits on number of attempts.

Potential Movie Spoilers (Its kinda the core plot tho)Yes this is obviously in reference to Final Destination Movie/media-franchise

By vehicle I mean like anything. Bus, Train, Boat, Submarine (like the Titan lol), Plane, anything you would plausibly travel on in your lifetime.

I think the total cost for me would've probably been like $5000 (USD) at least. Like at least 100 movies. 150 TV shows, 50 games.

Assuming the thief want both the phone and the data (because data / your identity is very valuable these days).

Disclaimer: I use a password manager, so please don't direct your comments at me.

So I know this person that says they don't use a password manager because they have a better system like... I'm gonna give an example:

Lets say, a person loves Star Wars, and their favorite character is Yoda. The favorite Their favorite phrase is from The Good Place "This is the Bad Place!". And their favorite date is 1969 July 20th (first landing on moon).

So here:

Star Wars Yoda = SWYd

"This is the Bad Place!" = ThIThBaPl!

1969 July 20 ---> 69 07 20

So they have this "core" password = SWydThIThBaPl!690720

Then for each website, they add the website's first and last 2 characters of the name to the front of the password...

So, "Lemmy Forum" = leum

Add this to the beginning of the "core" password it becomes:

leumSWydThIThBaPl!690720

For Protomail Email it's: prilSWydThIThBaPl!690720

For Amazon Shopping it's: amngSWydThIThBaPl!690720

Get the idea?

The person says that, since the beginning of the password is unique, its "unhackable", and that the attacker would need like 3 samples of the password to figure out their system.

Is this person's "password system" actually secure?

I hate when websites use the terms "Item arrives before Mother's/Father's Day".

Makes me want to cry, thinking about the alternate timeline where I have a normal life and no depression/anxiety.
