The Israeli military’s campaign to expand a “buffer zone” along the eastern perimeter of Gaza should be investigated as the war crimes of wanton destruction and collective punishment.

With a basis in resistance to institutional authority, anarchy appeals to some politically minded Native Americans. Historically, Indigenous anarchists played a significant role in the Mexican Revolution. Although the term is often used in popular culture to be synonymous with chaos, modern Native anarchists also incorporate the development of collaborations and trade to benefit the collective good. We’ll talk with Indigenous people who adhere to an anarchist philosophy about how it guides their lives and their views on the upcoming elections.

Moored on the Nuku’alofa wharf was a boat – the Uto ni Yalo – built both to honour and in the style of the great Pacific seafarers of centuries past.

Its crew had sailed from Fiji, a seven-day voyage given unkind winds, for a different sort of climate protest.

“It is a gentle but powerful reminder of what our ancestors, our forefathers, were able to achieve without fossil fuels to navigate our ocean, vast ocean,” Rufino Varea, a climate activist from the Fijian island of Rotuma said.

“Our Torres Strait Island communities are suffering the same fate as many to Pacific islands. Our houses flooded, our cemeteries being washed away and salt water contaminating drinking water."

“It’s not some vague future threat. It’s here right now.”

“Like we are talking to a wall, just a bunch of cement blocks.

Located in the Pacific Ocean 900 miles (1,448 kilometers) off the coast of Chile, the seamount is 1.9 miles (3,109 meters) tall and part of an underwater mountain range that is home to sponge gardens, ancient corals and rare marine species — including a type of squid that was filmed for the first time..

Details of the newly discovered species will be shared with the Ocean Census, an ambitious international collaboration to record marine life hidden in the world’s oceans. It aims to identify 100,000 unknown species in the next 10 years, allowing scientists to better understand and protect the deep-sea ecosystem.

Note: Since I only have a small multi chopper, not a blender, I do smaller quantities. I'm pretty sure a hand blender would do the trick as well. Also, personally I like it better when it's 1 part oat / 8 parts water approx (not 1/10 as shown in the video).

I mix the oat with some of the water in the multi and when it's done, I mix this content with the rest of the water in a large bowl. I also make sure that the water is cold and I stir for half a minute or so.

The cloth I use for the draining comes from an old worn out t-shirt, that is consequently very thin, and is dedicated for this use.

I find it's important to shake well the jar or bottle that the oat milk is in, before each use.

The leftovers in the cloth, either I just have them for breakfast with raisins and nuts, or I use them to make cookies.

Even if you make a mess or it doesn't work well the first time, maybe it's worth giving it another try. I think it's a super cheap experiment to make and super cost effective in the long run.

According to environmentalists, DSMF’s mining operation was illegal and went beyond the exploration phase permitted under its current license. However, a government official has denied the operation’s illegality, although he said the company’s activities caught his agency and the provincial government by surprise. The exact nature of the seabed mining and the conditions of the company’s license remain unknown.

It looks like it's a one-day strike.

I hope many people participate, so that it goes on until a permanent ceasefire is achieved.

I think that maybe you misread the title?

Israeli Assault on Northern West Bank Marks New Phase of Genocide

As Israel escalates attacks, Palestinians are wondering whether the war on Gaza has now expanded to the West Bank.

As I briefly explained above, I don't see a point to this hypothetical question and I was not convinced by your arguments, so I will not engage to answering it.

It looks like we see things quite differently. For me all Genocides are evil. I believe it is important to study their differences so they do not reoccur in any way, shape or form. Obviously as humans we haven't worked on this properly (for many of reasons) and one more is currently happening to Palestinians. In that sense comparing randomly any two of them as to see which one is worst, it honestly doesn't make sense to me.

Do you regard the Soviets and the Nazis as equally evil?

I'm not too sure how constructive this question is. They have different characteristics for sure and this is enough for me, in terms of analysis.

Great article, I didn't know about this effort. I have to admit, at first it did not make any sense to me, since it took me almost half the article before remembering that gas in the US, is what is called petrol in other english speaking places, and is definitely not related to natural gas.

I suppose this depends on where one lives. For the US, I think psilocybin assisted therapy is available in Oregon, Colorado and a in couple of places in California. In Australia it is already legal since 2023.

Apart from that there are several countries in the world where psilocybin can be bought legally. I don't know for sure, but I would assume one could find there some physicians exercising this sort of therapy.

From the link you provided, it looks like in 2021 it was 4.2 not 7.5. Apart from that, this approach sounds too speculative to me, since the production comes from 2021 and the CO~2~ emissions quota from 2023. In the Drax chart it shows a decline in TWh produced from 2017 to 2021 (btw 2021 is also the year they retired coal). Still, assuming from this trend that their production few years latter continues to decline is something I would consider too risky to do.

  • 2017 -> 14.9
  • 2018 -> 11.7
  • 2019 -> 10.2
  • 2020 -> 7.5
  • 2021 -> 4.2

The Ratcliffe chart has so many fluctuations till 2021 that I couldn't dare guess what their 2023 production was.

  • 2017 -> 2.6
  • 2018 -> 3.2
  • 2019 -> 0.7
  • 2020 -> 0.1
  • 2021 -> 0.8

If I find the 2023 numbers, I'll add a comment or edit this one.

Even tho Drax uses only biomass and its CO~2~ emissions are 4 times higher than Ractcliffe's which uses coal, I think it is also important to mention that Drax can produce twice as much electricity in comparison to Ratcliffe. Still terrible news from the 2023 report, just saying.

Drax Power Station

Its generating capacity of 3,906 megawatts (MW),

Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station

the station has a capacity of 2,000 MW
