Great to know. Thanks! I'm looking into them now.

Sure thing. But it seems my position on iOS client support is out of date. poVoq said that there's a couple decent options for XMPP clients now for iOS.

Oh that's good to hear. I'll most likely look into it again then, since client support was what was really holding me back. Do you have an XMPP server deployed? If so, what did you end up going with?

IIRC they're just different protocols. Snickett is XMPP, while something like Synapse is Matrix. XMPP is older than Matrix as a protocol, and from what I've heard is it's far lighter on resources than Matrix, at least Synapse. Looked into XMPP when I was researching how I was going to set up my private messaging and it seemed nice, but lack of good iOS clients at the time made it a non-starter as my family and friends are mixed between iOS and Android. Don't know if the client situation has changed however.

Makes it a complete no-go for me

I check out Warp every 6 months or so, because I’d love to see more innovation with the terminal, and the screenshots look great. But the story’s the same every time: I download the app, fire it up, and am greeted by a mandatory ‘sign up’ screen and privacy policy, at which point I close and immediately delete the app.

I will never be okay with a terminal that requires me to have a proprietary login to operate on my own local file system with local tooling.

SquareHome?

It is! I've heard only good things about the series after hearing recommendations on the old site, so I decided to pick up Raft and see what all the fuss was about. After getting a general overview of the series, it seems right up my alley. Any other Baxter's you'd recommend outside Xeelee Sequence?

Can't wait to see a good reaction video to this one. ThePrimeagen loves rust and usually has some pretty funny takes, so I'd love to see his reaction to this one.

About 4 chapters into book 1 (Raft) of Xeelee Sequence. Not bad so far, but takes me a while to see if I'm liking a book or not.
