The problem with news is that by convention, every future event without absolute certainty is a "might" or "maybe." Which works great for future human actions, but not when trying to communicate the urgency of getting off of fossil fuels — these things will happen if we don't, even if the timing and suddenness is uncertain.
We are, though several of his tax returns leaked, either in full or in part
It's more that the Inflation Reduction Act made good things happen all over the place
Given that they're owned Axel Springer which is known for pushing right-wing causes, assessing them as left-center seems a bit bonkers.
That's definitely the impression I get. We've got Republicans explicitly saying that their goal is to appeal to creeps:
the Trump campaign seems stuck in the strategy they had been counting on for months against Biden: demoralize Democrat voters so they stay at home while turning out the dirtbag vote with an overtly misogynist, trolling-based campaign. Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., explained the theory that they could get creepy dudes of every race with these tactics: "For every ‘Karen’ we lose, there is a ‘Julio’ and a ‘Jamal’ ready to sign up for the MAGA movement."
It's a gift link. No paywall for a couple weeks
Part of the process is screening for people like that:
When candidates responded that they had no experience fighting, the hiring officers expressed intense anxiety and wariness about their suitability for the job. In one interview, for example, after a 43-year-old white applicant said he had never been in a fight, the sergeant told her colleagues that she thought he would “crawl into himself and disengage” if a fight presented itself, adding, “He’s gonna have to get angry.”
I think they've learned from past disorganization, and are likely to be a lot better next time.
The Republican party has been making a real effort to weaken institutions and things came remarkably close to killing members of congress. They literally had a gallows outside and gave interviews saying how they planned to hang people.
They've updated the subhead, and I've updated my post to match the current headline.
Yep. Basically the approach of last resort due to their high cost.
