You have the crop factor backwards. It'll increase the effective focal length. Multiply the crop factor by the focal length of the lens

Use Ublock Origin and be sure to select better filters, get her using Bitwarden the password manager, and use Quad9 DNS to block lots of bad websites and malware.

O&O Shutup is a nice Windows software to block lots of crap.

Comes with the typical bs Playstation EULA: "The Software is licensed to you, not sold. SIE grants to you a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Software for personal use on the system or device for which it was purchased."

Get a fairly cheap mini PC for ~$700 with a 7840HS APU and run a Linux distro such as Bazzite, Chimera, or Nobara. You'll be able to game at 1080P comfortably.

SMS was a huge factor for getting my wife on a degoogled os

I'm going to put a UN or QR code on my website for another form of tech support. (Think of WhatsApp numbers)

Bring back the standard DIN design. Then we can all change out our head unit with something that has Garmin but doesn't affect the physical buttons on the dash below it.

That's terrible

Who's paying who 2.4M?

That looks like a pretty nifty OS. If I can't get the software working via Wine or something I'll definitely try this before Windows in a VM

I believe this may be a niche question but hopefully someone may have an answer.

Has anyone gotten PipeMax working on Linux? Or does anyone know of a Linux native alternative software for automotive engine design? I'd rather not purchase a software for $100 only to not be able to get it working. I am not very knowledgeable on how to get Windows programs working on Linux as I've tried using Bottles and Lutris for Zwift but was unable to get it working.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a mini PC with specific features.

I want a small case/computer that can:

  • VESA mount to the back of a monitor
  • Has a Kensington lock
  • Can be powered via USB-C. (~ <65W from monitor)

I have found the System76 Meerkat which has all those features except for USB-C power. I can't find a model from MinisForum with a VESA mount but maybe I just missed it. I'd appreciate the help!

EDIT: I found a company called Geekom which has everything I'm looking for. Thanks for the help

Hi everyone.

I'm planning to open a small gym and am looking for management software. I don't want cloud services or a subscription fee. I use Linux in my personal life and would prefer to keep running that at the business. Does anyone have experience with this type of thing?

I plan to self host all my services and data if possible such as camera systems and maybe even the website (I found a great local website company I'll be talking with soon).

New Manjaro Linux Gaming Handheld from OrangePi

This is exciting! A gaming handheld from a great open source hardware company that makes SBCs like the RP5. It looks to have all the quality features and combines the best of all the handhelds I've seen. This has me really excited.

I am wondering though what gaming on Manjaro Linux is like if anyone knows. I've heard of Bazzite and Nobara as well as Chimera and HoloISO which are all focused around gaming. Does Manjaro ship with all the gaming features preinstalled?

Good morning everyone. I am looking to get a Framework 13 for my wife for basic computer tasks and use Kinoite. I have been a fan of the AMD APUs but don't necessarily need the GPU power for her use cases. I have just found out about Universal Blue and the Framework 13 Intel image that applies "recommended power settings" among other things. Does anyone have experience with this Ublue image and can compare it against the FL13 AMD experience?

I saw today that Fossify Gallery is available on Fdroid via the IzzyOnDroid repo. I haven't seen the other apps yet but I'm sure they'll arrive soon enough.

I've used a VPN on individual devices for some time now. Every once in a while I come across a website that says it's blocking my access because of my IP address. I then change to another server until one isn't flagged anymore. The problem is there isn't one server that's free from this issue.

I am now going to add a VPN to my router to cover my whole network. Is there an easy way to fix this issue from my router? Like a way to cycle IPs automatically? I suppose if worse cones to worse I could activate a client side VPN again to overwrite my IP. My new router is a GL.iNet Flint 2.

He just posted this update today. I hope the best for his next chapter.

"I would never say the podcast will not return, as I get bored easily. I will say that it is on an indefinite "hiatus”."

Is Bazzite what one would call an "immutable" OS? I found this part of the FAQ but am still unclear as my understanding isn't very deep.

I'm interested in using Jellyfin. I learned that you can install the Jellyfin "channel" on any Roku device to stream to it. I have a TCL Roku TV and when I search for Jellyfin nothing appears. Also when I follow the link from Jellyfin's website to Roku's website it redirects to the main channel page and when I search for it there it doesn't appear.

Is Jellyfin still available on Roku? I can't find anything online indicating that it shouldn't be.

Is there a way to overlay property lot lines (aka land ownership maps) on the map of preferably a mobile FOSS application? I like OSM And and I know there are ways to make certain obscure things work. OnX Hunt has this feature but I don't want to use the application

Hi everyone. I currently use Zeal Zilent V2 67g switches and really enjoy them. I like how quiet they are and like that the bump/resistance is immediate.

I'm looking to try other switches still that are similar but don't know enough. Does anyone know of other switches that fit my criteria? How are the keychron Banana's? Are there any low profile switches like this? I absolutely do not like MX Brown's as well.
