I've always loved this allegory, but it can be applied to redfash as much as it can to xenophobes.

Some of it is because we had a decade of cheap borrowing which has come to an end and many of these platforms were never profitable.

Where are the self described anarchist devs? I've only seen self described communism (and censorship of criticism of authoritarian governments on dev run instance.)

There's some talk about "a rise in anti-China posts that have hit Reddit lately" in https://join-lemmy.org/docs/en/users/07-history-of-lemmy.html, which struck me as odd.
Criticism of any governments should be allowed, especially authoritarian ones.
