Yeah Lemmur is dead: https://github.com/LemmurOrg/lemmur
Also, I'm looking for moderators! If you are interested in being a mod, DM me.
currently it's just me, and the moderation tools for Lemmy aren't the best, but I'm working on it! I only just found out that there were even posts/users in this community an hour ago 😂
Honeymoon phase VS reality
Whoa, this is the first time I've heard of a metasearch engine or SearXNG, this is incredible. I've been a DDG user for a while but I might have to switch...
I was thinking about setting up a Pi to host a small/personal Lemmy instance, do you think that's a reasonable plan? I have no clue how resource intensive Lemmy is. Was thinking it could be nice to store my and friends' personal data on our own server instead of some random remote server (to some extent obvi).
Thanks! I was looking for this when I joined Lemmy, trying to get all my fave subs over here
Apple's review process is inconsistent at best. I used to work for an iOS app and it took several years before they blocked our release for not having a report feature on products. Never had the ability to block users, despite the ability to DM people.
Plus, for an app the size of Twitter, Apple will likely ignore most rules that doesn't lose them money.
Twitter is killing those, too: https://www.theverge.com/2023/1/22/23564460/twitter-third-party-apps-history-contributions
Hmm yeah a few of these are solved for me by using the Android app, I haven't really used the web interface much
It's true that these are all extensions to the markdown spec, but support for markdown should be synced with the Lemmy web frontend.
I think the join page should mention that Beehaw requires manual approval, so people don't get caught off guard.
