From my experience it STILL takes about a billion retries to get anything half decent (let alone ledgable) out of those so called "self learning" ai's.

Free Roguelike Games for low end pcs? Where do I begin with this one? There is Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, Angband, Tales of Majeyal, ADOM, Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead, Unreal World, theres a lot more than that but those are the ones that come to mind.
