This “plastic existence” reminds me of Refractions in the Plastic Pulse-a great Stereolab track. Has very limited commentary in this context, though, worth listening to for many tasteful beeps and boops. I will say that some of the French lyrics translate to English as “in endless action, without trophy or glory, in endless action, without profit or victory, a bottomless creation..”

Curious to hear thoughts on what a riot would look like? Not that I’m planning one myself…but are there goals to this convention of rage and distrust with our current administration? Does it have to be planned? Is rioting more an anarchy-type situation, where we just go balls to the walls ape shit on anything worth setting fire to? harming actual people is out of the question to me. I pity the ppl who voted for trump, but I don’t think physically harming people would allow me to feel good about anything, let alone actually ignite change to our benefit.
Reddit is a bot-infested hellscape. I got so mad when I learned that most AITAH posts and popular sub posts were just karma farmers preying on our attention. Lemmy seems to offer some relief. Happy to be here :)
This reminds me of a post I saw yesterday on the digital minimalism reddit sub, of someone speaking directly to “popcorn brain,” suggesting that it’s not only healthy, but okay to take your mind away from the endless notifications bombarding your phone. We’re very stuck in a reality that makes checking our phone the norm, but that can change with designated time away from it, like putting your phone in another room while you work, sleep, or honestly don’t care to respond to people for a few hours. That’s completely okay to do.
