Just happened to me yesterday. I needed a 12v power adapter to trigger cable, but I had thrown out the previous one thinking I would never use it.

Contrary to popular belief, there is nothing in Data's programing that would prevent him from doing "bad" things like lying or killing. He has free will just as much as any other Starfleet officer.

Data is much more human than you might guess at first. He is more akin to a human on the autism spectrum than a robot with hard-coded programming.

IMO, SSDs are so much cheaper now than 10-15 years ago, that I switched to all SSDs for storage, including my media server. They're faster, cooler (needing fewer fans in your rig), and need less power. I only use HDDs for backups now.

Get a 2TB NVMe SSD for your OS and games and some SATA SSDs for general storage. Forget about RAID. It's more of a hassle than what it's worth. Use a drive pooling solution if needed.

I believe when you take her item so many times, she leaves to get more and... something happens.

There is no AI Revolution. There never was. Generative AI was sold as an automation solution to companies looking to decrease labor costs, but's it's not actually good at doing that. Moreover, there's not enough good, accurate training material to make generative AI that much smarter or more useful than it already is.

Generative AI is a dead end, and big companies are just now starting to realize that, especially after the Goldman-Sachs report on AI. Sam Altman is just a snake oil saleman, another failing-upwards executive who told a bunch of other executives what they wanted to hear. It's just now becoming clear that the emperor has no clothes.

The images are from Slay the Princess. Highly recommended.

Nickelback isn't a bad band. They were just over marketed and over played to death. People don't hate the band so much as that aspect of the music industry.

Speaking of systemd boot, I tried it on a recent install, and my system only booted properly about 20% of the time. I switched back to grub, and it's been rock solid since.

How accurate is this? Asking for a friend...

Gentlemen, I give you the god of the gaps.

Both. Hitler did the same thing with the big businesses at the time. He promised them greater profits and reduced regulations in exchange for their support.

The irony of this is that Hitler did have good business connections. Fascism cannot rise to power without strong support of big industry. Trump is trying to forge similar connections with the oil industry currently, offering to slash environmental regulations in exchange for a big campaign donation.
